Job SummaryOur new Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Filton, Bristol is a £32m state of the art technology research and development facility. It acts as a hub for world-class innovative technology for the next generation of fuel-efficient aircraft. It offers a collaborative space for research and development with universities, the UK’s CATAPULT network and GKN Aerospace’s UK supply chain, to help strengthen aerospace technology and support the UK’s Industrial strategy.
The Early Careers Coordinator will provide administrative and coordination support for early career programmes and outreach initiatives at the UK Global Technology Centre (GTC). This includes assisting with the apprenticeship, internship, and work experience programmes, ensuring smooth processes from recruitment to placement coordination. The role will also support STEM outreach activities by helping to organise events and maintain key partnerships. Acting as a central point of contact, the coordinator will assist with scheduling, communications, and general programme administration to ensure a positive experience for early career participants.
Apprenticeship Programme Support:
• Coordinate relationships with apprenticeship providers (e.g., colleges, universities) and act as a key contact for administrative queries.
• Assist in advertising apprenticeship opportunities and supporting the Talent Acquisition team with organising assessment centres and onboarding.
• Help arrange apprenticeship events, such as open days and information sessions.
• Maintain placement rotation schedules and ensure key stakeholders have up-to-date information.
• Track and update apprentice progress reports, ensuring relevant information is shared with key stakeholders.
Work Experience Programme Coordination:
• Support the planning and administration of work experience weeks, including handling applications, scheduling, and communication with students.
• Act as the primary point of contact for students and internal teams, ensuring a smooth experience during work placement weeks.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination of intern talent reviews for all early careers roles.
STEM & Outreach Support:
• Help maintain relationships with STEM and early careers partners within the Bristol area, ensuring alignment with the UK STEM and Early Careers strategy.
• Coordinate meetings for the UK GTC STEM/Outreach Committee, including scheduling, minute-taking, and follow-ups.
• Assist in organising outreach events and engagement activities with schools, colleges, and professional networks.
• Support local GKN Aerospace sites with event coordination and outreach efforts.

You will be a confident communicator, capable of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, from students and educators to internal GKN Aerospace teams. A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills will help you build and maintain key relationships with schools, universities, and external partners. Empathy and sensitivity to diverse cultures and backgrounds are crucial, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in all interactions. Enthusiasm for outreach work and making a positive impact in the community will be key to thriving in this role.
