Job Summary

To play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the early careers talent strategy across the UK. This individual will serve as a key liaison between various UK locations, facilitating the sharing of best practices, providing support and guidance, and assessing the effectiveness of local programs. Additionally, the role involves leading and managing the graduate program for the Civil business globally, building relationships with key strategic external providers to support our early talent pipeline, and monitoring key data metrics to drive retention and recruitment efforts for the UK.     

Job Responsibilities

1. Liaison and Best Practice Sharing:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with HR teams and early careers talent across various UK locations.
Facilitate regular meetings and forums to share insights, best practices, and success stories related to early career programs.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to local teams in implementing effective early careers initiatives, such as STEM outreach and bringing early careers talent into our sites.

Act as a champion for early career employees, providing career advice, offering business exposure and opportunities for professional growth.
2. Global Graduate Programme Management:
Lead and manage the global graduate program for the Civil Business Line, ensuring alignment with the business objectives.
Oversee the program design, implementation, and evaluation to drive high engagement and retention rates.
Collaborate with global stakeholders to enhance the program’s impact and visibility.

3. Strategic Partnerships:
Identify and engage with key external providers to establish strategic partnerships that enhance the early careers offering.
Develop collaborative initiatives with educational institutions and professional organizations to attract and retain top talent.

Job Responsibilities

4. Data Monitoring and Analysis:
Monitor and analyse data related to retention rates, recruitment numbers, and overall effectiveness of early careers programs in the UK.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
Develop proposals based on data insights to address areas of opportunity and focus for early careers talent development – particular areas of focus would be end of programme / on-going career development.
Develop targeted initiatives to attract diverse candidates and increase retention of early careers talent.


5. Support Projects:
Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence on global early careers projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and local needs.
Provide support and resources to local teams involved in global initiatives, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Job Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

Proven experience in managing early careers programmes (such as graduate, interns, apprentices) Familiar with outreach strategies, for example with educational institutions Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with a diverse stakeholders Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Ability to analyse data and metrics to measure success of early careers programs and make data driven decisions Innovative and creative thinker, able to propose and implement new ideas Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners

Desirable Qualifications:

GKN Aerospace Experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement or learning and development Experience of talent development frameworks and early careers pathways Awareness of diversity and inclusion principles, and a commitment to promoting an inclusive workplace
