We are seeking an individual who is dedicated to teaching and is committed to students, student learning, and student success. Candidates should be interested in participating in classroom research, outcomes-based assessment, quality improvement, and faculty development. Candidate should be committed to the teaching profession and focused on equity and inclusion within that profession. **Job Description** The faculty member will teach Early Childhood Education courses at the undergraduate level, including courses taught both on campus and in an online format. This education will be responsible for educating students for successful careers working in the Early Childhood Field. As this individual will be assisting in supervising field work placements developing strong partnerships with community and industry partners will be critical. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: + Teaching a full-time load (32 credits per academic year) in Early Childhood Education. + Promoting the College’s Early Childhood Education Program to prospective students, community partners, and employers. + Participating in ongoing professional development to stay current with developments and best practices in the Early Childhood Education industry and career and technical education pedagogies. + Student advising and contributing to student growth and development along their educational journey. + Work in Cooperation with the Education Programs Coordinator to secure field placements for students, supervising students within their placements and providing students feedback. + Support efforts to ensure Education and Early Childhood Transfer Pathway requirements set through MinnState and PELSB are met and maintained. + Participating in departmental, school, and college meetings to maintain collegial and cooperative work relationships with faculty colleagues and all college personnel. + Participating in course, department, and institutional review, revision, and assessment projects. **Minimum Qualifications** **Education Requirement** + Bachelor degree in education with 12 semester credits in early childhood education. **Occupational Experience Requirement** + Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience with children ages birth to eight years old. **Recency Requirement** + One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. **Preferred Qualification** + Master’s in Education or appropriately related field (emphasis must be in early childhood education). + K-12 licensure or ability to obtain. + Five years of college-level or university-level teaching experience with an understanding of the unique student populations they serve. + Experience with implementation of pedagogy for technical and community college students, as well as with university students. + Experience with concurrent enrollment or PSEO. + Proven understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the communities that they serve. + Experience providing instruction in all modalities, including in-person, synchronous, and asynchronous formats. + Skills using latest teaching technologies, including learning management systems, video, and more. + Understanding of the mission of the community and technical college. + Multilingual or multicultural background. **Other Requirements** + You must apply online and attach an electronic cover letter, resume and transcript to your online application in order to be considered for this position. + ​All applicants must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of employment. + ​In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check. **Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)** Monday - Friday **About** Minnesota West Community and Technical College is a student-centered, open-access community and technical college within the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
