Early Childhood Family Service Worker
Overview Coordinates and plans programs and activities to meet the social and emotional needs of the children and their families. Coordinates health screenings, social services and parent involvement activities and prepares all necessary paperwork. Provides crisis intervention and assists families in understanding the implications and complexities of the situation and its impact on one's lifestyle. Makes appropriate referrals. Qualifications EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university in Social Work or related field; no substitutions. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT An additional three (3) years of experience in a related field. COMPUTER SKILLS An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
