Your resume should be in a Word or PDF format.** **Department Summary** Vanderbilt University Medical Center Child and Family Centers offer early childhood care and education for the children of VUMC employees. The child care program serves children, from six weeks old to age 5. The centers are licensed by the Tennessee Department of Human Services. **This position will work with all of our age groups and float between the classrooms.** The Child and Family Centers provide quality care and education in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment. **Locations:** + Belcourt Child and Family Center 2140 Belcourt Avenue + Patterson Child and Family Center 1817 Patterson Street + Knob Child and Family Center 5701 Knob Road + Dakota Child and Family Center 4108 Dakota Avenue **Sign-On Bonus Details and Requirements** $5,000 sign-on bonus The sign-on bonus is not applicable to current VUMC staff or former staff who have worked for VUMC in the past twelve months. The sign-on bonus is only available for full-time positions. **Key Responsibilities** + Assists in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of the children’s development in their care. + Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children’s learning and growth. + Performs on-going developmental evaluations of children as required by DHS and develops lesson plans and follows curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child. + Maintains ongoing, open communication with parents/caregivers. + Implements and supports nutrition routines. + Provides attentive supervision of children: knows classroom enrollment, constantly scans classroom/playground to ensure safety, and closely monitors children by constantly taking attendance. **Technical Capabilities** + Curriculum Planning & Design (Fundamental Awareness): Curriculum Planning & Design refers to the courses of study offered by an organization, as well as a group of related courses, often in a special field of study. + Training & Development (Fundamental Awareness): Has demonstrated an understanding of the basic characteristics and needs of effective delivery: use of visual aids, demeanor, oral skills and program support requirements. Has had training in course delivery. Observed instructors in course preparation and delivery. + Planning (Fundamental Awareness): Establishes realistic personal work goals and objectives.
