We are looking for a dedicated and nurturing Nursery Practitioner to join our client's team and provide high-quality early years education and care for children. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment that encourages children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Key Responsibilities
Childcare and DevelopmentPlan, prepare, and execute a range of age-appropriate activities that support children's development.Foster a positive, safe, and engaging environment for all children. Observe and assess individual children's progress and use these observations to support learning objectives and development plans.Support children in acquiring social, language, and motor skills through play, structured activities, and daily routines.
Health, Safety, and HygieneMaintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring all nursery policies and health & safety procedures are followed Administer first aid as required and manage any allergies or dietary restrictionsEnsure children's personal care needs, including toileting and feeding, are met in a dignified and respectful manner
Partnership with Parents and GuardiansCommunicate with parents and guardians regularly to discuss children's progress and any concernsProvide daily feedback and updates to parents, fostering an inclusive partnership Participate in parent evenings, open days, and other events to engage with the community
Team Collaboration and Professional DevelopmentWork as part of a team, sharing ideas and supporting other practitioners in maintaining the high standard of careParticipate in training and professional development sessions as required Stay updated on early years practices and policies
Qualifications and ExperienceEssential:- Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or equivalent (min SCQF Level 7)Experience working in a nursery, early years, or childcare setting Clear understanding of Realising the Ambition and Curriculum for ExcellenceFirst aid training or willingness to complete it upon employment
Desirable:- Safeguarding and child protection trainingKnowledge of additional support needs (ASN) and disabilities
Skills and Personal QualitiesPassionate about child development and early education Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work well in a team and collaborate effectively Patience, empathy, and a caring approach to working with childrenAbility to handle emergencies and stay calm under pressure
