You will be on a team that is evaluating and managing the delivery of new amphibious ships and landing craft to the fleet.  Our team is led by a Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager, each having decades of experience working in the DoD and Shipbuilding Industry. This position is located in Washington, DC.

 

Our Amphibious Warfare Operation provides critical services to nearly all U.S. Navy amphibious ships and craft. You will work closely with Government and industry professionals as well as shipbuilders and other support personnel. Our objective: to ensure our clients’ mission objectives are achieved with the highest level of capability and assurance, and at the lowest possible cost.

 

In this role, you will:

Collect and analyze program funding requirements and inform and support annual budget needs for program.Collect and analyze shipyard production metrics and raise attention to potential problem areas as necessary.Provide Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) management support.Conduct analytical studies.Projects and/or programs may involve engineering, scientific, information systems, logistics, administrative, or strategic planning expertise, and lead to recommendations to improve operational effectiveness.Provide technical and/or operational support to projects and programs.Follow established modeling and evaluation processes to determine the effectiveness of current operational activities and to determine problem areas and develop solutions.Acts as a resource to managers and employees within the organization. Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Bachelor’s degree with two to four years of relative experience. (A High School Diploma or GED plus at least 6 years of relevant experience will be considered.)A current DoD security clearance or be able to obtain an interim clearance after hire.Experience with Earned Value is required.United States (U.S.) citizenship.Ability to operate personal computers and have good knowledge and operational abilities with Microsoft Office tools.Ability to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility. Some work will occur within an industrial field office, outdoors and/or aboard ship while the ship is undergoing construction, alteration, activation, overhaul, repair, and/or underway trials. Walking and climbing throughout the ship, to accomplish ship checks, validations, or loadouts, will be required. Exposure to high noise levels, uncomfortable temperatures, heights, or other industrial safety conditions will require use of personal protective clothing and equipment.Ability to travel (less than 10%) to support activities in a shipyard or naval facility or onboard ship while underway.

Additional desired experience and skills:

Relevant U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard experience in ship and/or craft acquisition, construction, or repair is desired. Relevant Amphibious warship ship and/or craft acquisition, construction, or repair experience is ideal.Advance skills with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is ideal.Knowledge of NAVSEA Enterprise Planning System (NEPS)Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act of 1990 (DAWIA) certification is desired.Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) certification is desired.

In compliance with local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $63,881.84 to $106,470.64; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
