Description

A large oil and gas client is looking for a contract Civil Designer to join their team. This person is accountable to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary environment which includes working with all engineering disciplines to plan and design Earthwork’s projects. This position is best suited to individuals who have great multi-tasking skills, can quickly interpret client’s needs while being organized and team focused. The successful candidate will have a strong AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting experience and be proficient in using ArcGIS.

MUST HAVE:

•\tMust be legally entitled to work in Canada

•\tASET member or equivalent

•\tDiploma of Degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Civil Engineering Technology (CET)

2 years + of Oil and Gas experience

•\tMust have strong computer skills and a minimum of 8 years of experience producing civil earthworks designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D software

•\tCorridor modeling, mass haul diagram plan production, storm water management and design experience, slope, pond and ditching design, culvert sizing calculations/analysis, Autoturn and Autolisp programming would all be considered assets

•\tAbility to assist in developing automated tools using ArcGIS model builder and python to automate surface planning activities

•\tSolid understanding of earthwork construction practices

•\tStrong desire to learn, execute, improve and take accountability for company and team success

•\tAbility to use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions

•\tCan effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably

•\tAbility to create effective working relationships within a fast pace multi-disciplinary environment

•\tExcellent organizational skills

Role is in Calgary, with occasional visit to site required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
