General Description: Responsible for analyzing information and creating financial deliverables for clients with less complex benefit programs.
Responsibilities:Responsible for financial analytics for predominantly fully insured clients. Some clients may be self-funded. Typical client size is 100 to 250 lives.Prepare standard analyses with minimal customization. Analyses may include:Market review analysisRenewal rate and funding projections and modelingAnalysis of claims utilizationRate and Contribution analysisClaims experience reportsBenchmarkingFinancial funding analysis with guidanceDevelop alternative strategies, plan modeling, and cost reduction opportunities.Perform technical analysis of group insurance contracts and financial arrangements.Serve as primary contact with insurance carriers for marketing coverage for new business quotes and renewal. Includes requesting quotes, evaluating options, and conducting fact-based negotiation of rates and benefit features. Develop and maintain excellent carrier relationships. Analyze claims experience data. With guidance identify financial performance conclusions.Write client facing Executive Summaries that provides observations and findings. With guidance, recommend solutions and next steps. Prepare carrier and client written correspondence. Includes carrier renewal confirmation letters and client renewal letters.Participate in the peer review process, primarily as the reviewed party. May also act as a reviewer, predominantly for Associate Analyst I and Analyst II work. Receive assistance and guidance from Benefit Analyst Team mentors. With guidance, use analytic tools.Keep current on industry information, technology, and trends. Successfully maintain and service a full book of business.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:1 year + experience in employee benefits or related field. High School Graduate. College degree preferred.Must hold or be willing to obtain a state Life & Disability insurance license. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.Ability to manage and negotiate multiple priorities and deadlines.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
