Position Summary:
Must be able to perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound procedures of the carotids, peripheral and abdominal vessels to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disorders/diseases affecting circulation in accordance with established practices and procedures. Produces two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analysis of heart and related structures, using ultrasound equipment, for use by physician in diagnosis of heart disease and study of the heart.
Essential Functions:
Works independently and with other healthcare providers to perform ultrasonography procedures and present images and pertinent patient information for interpretation.
Performs echocardiographic procedures including transthoracic, transesophageal, exercise stress echo and Dobutamine stress echo.
Performs vascular procedures of the carotids, peripheral and abdominal vessels. Performs studies in accordance with established practices and procedures.
Assists with clerical responsibilities, e.g. scheduling, charging/billing for tests performed.
Requirements:
Education: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field
