ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: PRIORITY RECRUITMENT
This position will independently perform cardiac sonographic exams on both inpatients, and outpatients and provide a preliminary report. The Sonographer develops adequate clinical information, evaluates images and presents completed examinations for interpretation.
Job Requirements Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Must have demonstrated proficiency in the independent performance and documentation of appropriate sonographic studies in both routine and acute care settings. Must assist in the coordination of appropriate patient scheduling, equipment utilization and daily organization of required tasks. Demonstrated ability to gather a full clinical assessment picture to accompany images for interpretation; performs and maintains appropriate record keeping, data collection, audits or monitors as required; performs quality control, instrument checks, quality assurance tasks and deficiency follow up as required.
License/Certification: Must possess a current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Sonographer License, must be registered by the ARDMS or CCI to perform adult echocardiography; must maintain continued education requirements as specified by credentialing body. Current BLS required through the American Heart Association.
Education and/or Experience Must have a minimum of one year recent clinical experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance Must be in generally good health with the ability to mobilize sonography equipment as required for patient care, must be able to transport patients as appropriate as well as assist with patient transfer and lifting as needed. Reach and stretch. Normal range of hearing and eyes perform job duties. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate job-related equipment. Occasional overtime necessary. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment.
