Echo Sonographer Cath Lab
Job Description

A Registered Cardiac Sonographer working independently and under supervision, according to established policies and procedures, performs routine and complex echocardiography examinations and performs and provides preliminary interpretation of studies performed. Examinations performed may include, but not limited to, trans-thoracic echocardiograms, trans-esophageal echocardiograms, stress and contrast echocardiograms (utilizing commercially prepared contrast agents). ACLS certification and experience in placing intravenous lines and administration of IV medications desirable. Experience in EKG interpretation and cardiac stress testing preferred. Registered as Cardiac Sonographer by either American registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International. If new graduate, must be registered within 1 year of employment. Schedule: 7 on / 7 off

Must have experience as required for registry in echocardiography by either the American registry of Diagnostic Sonographers or Cardiovascular Credentialing International.  Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skill in the performance of trans-thoracic contrast echocardiograms.  Experience in placing intravenous lines and administration of IV medications is desirable. Experience in EKG interpretation and cardiac and vascular stress testing is preferred.  Three to six months orientation to department policies, procedures protocols and equipment we usually required.

Under certain conditions, may be exposed to blood and/or body fluids or potentially infective materials. Requires constant hearing, speaking, vision and repetitive hand movement. Requires attention to detail despite frequent interruptions.
