Job Summary Echo Tech: -Responsible for performing transthoracic echocardiograms on children of all ages. -Responsible for writing a thorough preliminary report on all of the findings from the study and able to perform correct measurements where indicated. -Must be able to image a wide range of congenital heart disease from non-complex to complex congenital heart disease. -Responsible for knowing and understanding cardiac morphology, physiology, and different types of surgical repairs used in pediatric cardiology. -Must be able to know how to interrogate and image different surgical repairs. -Responsible for assisting physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms and maintaining the equipment needed to complete this test. -Responsible for logging patient information into the data system and completing necessary billing work. Skills & Abilities: -Ability to work well with children and put them at ease -Must demonstrate excellent communication skills with peers, patients, and families. -Must have the ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, developmental, social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in the ECHO lab. Familiarity with computers preferred #STC Qualifications Education Requirements 4 year Bachelor's Degree - OR - combination of relevant education & experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's Degree Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
