Overview Job Duties Performs vascular and cardiac ultrasound exams. Must be familiar with all aspects of echocardiography and vascular sonography. Reports on preliminary findings and critical results. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Assesses patient health status including state of wellness, compliance with care plan and determines appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. • Trains and contributes to on-boarding of new personnel. • Maintains credentials and CEU's • May perform routine stress echo and complex echo and vascular ultrasound and PVR procedures for which they are qualified to perform by training and which fall within the normal scope of practice of the supervising physician(s). • Provides acute and chronic patient care including taking histories, doing physicals, and monitoring therapies. • Recognize serious, life-threatening emergencies, evaluate them appropriately and ensure patient receives prompt care required to stabilize. • Documents patient information results of physical examination and laboratory/radiographic studies care provided in patient record and maintains department statistics. Uses computer to access/enter needed data. • Consults with other staff as necessary • Maintains patient confidentiality. • Responds promptly to request from team members and physicians; Add on exams. • Participates in morning reports and patient rounds as required. Qualifications Experience Requirements Graduate of approved Cardiovascular Sonography Program. 1-2 years' experience in hospital, clinic, or physician office. required Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Vocational Training; Specific Coursework: Cardiovascular Sonography Program. required Registered in Echo and Vascular; required Must meet the hospital credentialing requirements. required Must have one (1) of the following certifications: RDCS or RCS within one (1) year of hire or transfer. required Must have one (1) of the following certifications: RVT or RVS required Maintains flexibility regarding work schedule and acknowledges that additional work hours may be required, like one Saturday a month.
