This position is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus.
Summary
+ Under the direction of the Director operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment and produces cardiac images according to policy/protocol.
+ Examinations performed include adult echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms and pediatric echocardiograms.
+ Responsible for assuring a high level of quality in all exams and providing the interpreting physician with all the necessary information in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
+ Collaborates with other departments to provide procedures in a timely and efficient manner for all involved.
Education
+ Associates of Science degree in health care field and successful completion of a cardiac ultrasound training program
+ Successful completion of a two year Echocardiogram training program;
+ Eligible for on-site training by obtaining an Associates of Science in a health care field or Bachelors degree in a health care related field with two years of cardiac related health care experience.
Licensure/Certification
+ Must have current CPR certification.
+ A valid license in Cardiac Ultrasound from the ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
+ Registry eligible and obtain valid certification within 12 months of hire.
Experience
+ Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
Other Qualifications
+ Ability and knowledge of imaging the various anatomical structures and differentiating artifacts.
+ Must be able to lift 75 lbs., 150 lbs. shared lifting.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications.
+ Demonstrate ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills.
+ Must share responsibility to cover call, weekends and holidays.
