Job Overview:

The Echocardiographer performs echocardiograms with doppler and color flow analysis to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular TechnologyCurrent RCS/RDCS certificationBLS through the American Heart AssociationSuccessful completion of all orientation programs

Scheduling Requirements:

Day ShiftFull-Time40 hours per weekThe one-call component requires a 30-minute response timeWeekends and holiday requirements

Essential Functions:

Performs echocardiograms with Doppler, color flow analysis, and strain to assist the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of heart diseaseUses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to determine each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatmentAssists the nurse and physician in the performance of transesophageal echocardiogramsAdministers Definity when necessary to obtain high-quality imagesPerforms echocardiograms on both hospital patients and outpatients, which includes offsite locations in the area
