Position Summary: Performs diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound with documentation of anatomic measurements for normal, abnormal or suspicious anatomy. Performs various cardiac and vascular testing, including stress echo, TEE, ultrasound studies. Provides excellent patient care while demonstrating exemplary core customer service skills.  Completes accurate documentation of patient medical records. Assigned home facility but covers and floats to Tidelands Health sites as necessary.  Serves on-call rotation and responds within 60 minutes to facility to meet patient service needs.  Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:   

• Prior ECHO sonography experience, required.

• Minimum of two years on the job training with demonstrated competency required.

Education:

• High School diploma, required.

• Graduate of Ultrasonography Program, Vascular Credential (RDCS/RCS) required.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Echosonography credential (RDCS or RCS) required.

• American Heart Association Healthcare provider course with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required to be initially completed with the TH Organizational Development Office within 30 calendar days of hire date (exceptions to obtain certification from a provider other than the TH Organizational Development Office are approved by TH Organizational Development on a case by case basis).  BLS Recertification is required every two (2) years.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of scanning techniques, required.

• Knowledge of Normal and Abnormal Anatomy, required.

• Computer Proficient, required.

• Medical Terminology, required.

Other:

• Ability and willingness to take “call” and respond within 60 minutes of call to facility.

Physical Requirements: Light-Medium Physical Agility Test (PAT) Rating

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert 15 to 20 pounds of force occasionally (activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or 5 to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 5 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
