Echocardiography Sonographer, McLeod Cardiology Associates

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

1. Greets and confirms patients, assists patient with appropriate attire for procedure.

2. Explains procedure length, properly positions patient for procedure, and expectations along with desired results.

3. Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure based on body habits, pathology, and body parts.

4. Processes completed images making sure they are of interpretable quality.

5. Continues to develop professionally through continuing education programs and in-services.

6. Complies with all policies of the system with the intention of delivering the highest quality of service.

7. Primary Responsibilities include performance of the following procedures: Adult Echocardiography, Stress/Echo

tests. Additional responsibilities include maintaining work logs, providing preliminary reports, and working closely

with physicians to ensure protocols are established and met.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications/Training:

· Graduate of an accredited Echocardiogram Technology program

Education/Certifications/Licenses:

· Certified Echo Tech
