eCommerce Merchandising Manager

As the eCommerce Merchandising Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that our online store delivers an exceptional shopping experience for customers. You will be responsible for overseeing the digital product assortment, merchandising strategies, and sales performance across our eCommerce channels. Working cross-functionally with marketing, creative, inventory, and sales teams, you will drive product presentation, content optimization, and strategic promotions to maximize conversions and revenue.

Typical pay for this position is $80,000-100,000/year. The final offer for this position will be based on the unique experience and qualifications of the candidate selected. This position may also be eligible for a bonus not included in the base pay range. 

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive online merchandising strategy that aligns with business goals, seasonal trends, and customer demands. Optimize product assortments, pricing, and categorization across digital channels to enhance user experience and drive sales. Collaborate with Project Manager, SEO Specialist, UX/UI Specialist, eCommerce Business Analyst and business stakeholders to define business requirements, user stories and functional specifications for project initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Analyze customer behavior, sales data, and market trends to continually refine product offerings and website merchandising. Monitor product performance, track key metrics (conversion rates, bounce rates, and AOV), and implement action plans to improve performance. Ensure that product details (descriptions, images, specifications, etc.) are accurate, compelling, and aligned with the brand’s voice and standards. Work closely with inventory and supply chain teams to manage product availability and create seamless on-site experiences. Develop strategies to improve on-site search functionality, filters, and navigation, ensuring an intuitive user experience. Partner with the creative team to manage product photography, video content, and visual merchandising on the site. Lead A/B testing efforts to optimize landing pages, product displays, and promotional content. Lead or participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to update on project progress, gather feedback, and adjust strategies accordingly. Stay current on industry trends, competitor strategies, and emerging eCommerce technologies to recommend new initiatives and improvements.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in eCommerce merchandising, retail merchandising, or a similar role. Proven experience with eCommerce platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce, etc.) and content management systems (CMS). Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions. Experience with eCommerce analytics tools (Google Analytics, Quantum Metrics, etc.) and A/B testing platforms. Solid understanding of SEO, digital marketing, and conversion rate optimization best practices. Exceptional attention to detail, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Strong project management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with diverse teams. Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and/or basic coding skills is a plus.

Physical Demands

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer. Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials, up to 20 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as typing, clicking, and using a mouse for extended periods. Ability to work in an office environment, including frequent use of a desk and computer. Ability to travel occasionally for business-related purposes (if required).
