We are looking for a creative and ‘in the know’ talented Ecommerce SEO Manager to work with our top record-breaking magazine websites. From millennials to fashionistas and pop culture enthusiasts, you will be able to helps shape content strategy each day.

 

Working directly with our SEO team, Ecommerce team, and Good Housekeeping Editors and writers, you’ll get a front row view of the latest trends and hottest new product reviews. This role will focus mainly on our Good Housekeeping title. 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Assist the SEO director and Ecommerce Director in the planning and implantation of the Ecommerce SEO strategy on Good Housekeeping. Mentor, develop and manage junior members of SEO the team. Develop and facilitate implementation of our SEO strategy internationally. Anticipate and plan for technological and behavioural changes in buying patterns and how it relates to Search. Implement the SEO content strategy for the site that seamlessly mixes into its editorial calendar and tone of voice. Inputting keyword ideas, that drive affiliate revenue. Competitor content and keyword gaps, spotting emerging trends, seasonal opportunities, and innovative takes on what’s trending on the web, news, and social platforms. Optimise content on the regular and work with the commercial, affiliate and Ecommerce and content editors to formulate and plan strategies around tentpole events such as Black Friday and Prime Day. Create ad-hoc reports for the editorial teams, based on what’s trending on Google.  You will work directly in our CMS (Content Management System) updating content, meta titles and descriptions, URLs, optimising internal linking, creating aggregated content pages, etc. Manage initiatives to increase reader trust and ensure content meets Google's E-A-T guidelines, such as author bios & pictures of testing. Interrogate monthly reports, Google Analytics, and communicate wins and learnings. And deep dive analysis to inform further strategy decisions.  Keep track of our Ecommerce articles’ rankings and report on significant changes. Live and breathe all things Search. Stay on top of the industry, test out new product features, and ensure we are always playing nicely with every algorithm update.  Effectively and proactively communicate to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.  Be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.  You may be required to undertake such further duties as your skills, qualifications and experience allow and/or as may be assigned to you from time to time.

 

ABOUT YOU
 

Proven hands-on SEO experience.  Commercial mindset. Experience working in an affiliate focused business. Currently in a primarily SEO focused role. Knowledge of on-page ranking factors. Extensive keyword research experience. Understanding of seasonal keyword changes. Experience recommending/creating Search specific content. Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.  Strong analytical skills. Must be able to collaborate and foster positive relationships with colleagues. A commercial mind-set, consistently focused on driving revenues. Must have a passion to stay current on SEO.  Experience with Google Search Console. Experience working with an enterprise level CMS. Google Analytics. Willingness to develop and expand knowledge of SEO and useful tools including Excel. Affiliate and/or Ecommerce experience. Understanding of affiliate metrics preferred. Experience and interest in Home/Tech/Fashion/Beauty/Lifestyle is a plus
