Proposal Summary:
MSI is pursuing the anticipated Supporting Peace and Stability in South Kivu (SPSSK) Activity. Working in close coordination with USAID/DRC, the activity aims to support peace and stability in South Kivu following the withdrawal of MONUSCO (the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo) peacekeeping troops.

Position Summary:
MSI is seeking an Economic Livelihoods Advisor to design and lead programming to increase and promote sustainable livelihoods as alternatives to illegal activities and foster economic security for local communities in South Kivu. This will be a full-time position based in Bukavu, DRC. This position is contingent upon award.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in international development, economics, finance or other relevant field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated expertise in developing and/or managing donor-funded economic livelihoods programs or components. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with local government counterparts, civil society organizations, and local cooperatives. Task and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and within a team to meet deadlines. Ability and willingness to travel throughout South Kivu, as needed. Prior experience in the region and development programming in DRC and South Kivu preferred. Strong interpersonal, supervision, and written/oral communication skills.
