Position Objective:

The Unit Resource Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of patient medical records, communication internally and externally, acquisition of stock and patient supplies, completion of log books and coordination of ongoing activities at the Nurses’ station. Represents Luminis Health RISE Values in every interaction with patients, families, co-workers, and colleagues.

Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges

Collaborates with hospital personnel to ensure optimal patient care and promote a positive working environment in Unit and Hospital.Manage unit call volumesCoordinates communication on patient care unitMaintains patient medical records to ensure they are current and accurateMaintains patient and unit supplies economically and efficiently, including PPECoordinates communication at the Nurses’ Station and patient care unitParticipates in programs designed to increase the quality of patient care.Maintains nurse call and monitoring systemConducts Environmental care roundsMaintain work ordersWelcome and escort unit visitorsFacilitates discharge coordination which includes transportation arrangements and discharge packetsCoordinates unit ASCOM messagesAssists all healthcare partners such as PT, OT, Speech, Providers, and case managersManage bed board and patient dispositionDistribute staff communicationAssist unit leadership with unit projects as assigned

Educational/Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED requiredOne-year previous Unit Clerk experience or in a clerical position in a similar health care setting preferred.Working knowledge of basic medical terminology
