Responsibilities Serves as Editor for the Training Design and Production Support Division for DLA Training with responsibility for all DLA Training publications, written materials, and audiovisuals. Provides full editing services of materials to assigned organizations and activities, including editorial reviews in compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Presidential Plain Writing Act of 2010, and U.S. Copyright law. Provides editorial review for participant and instructor guides, job aids and brochures, scripts, PowerPoint slides, resource books, manuals, and reference guides. Serves as a staff advisor on written, editorial, and Section 508 policy. Coordinates the printing and publication of training materials, manuals, and audiovisual aids. Provides professional guidance and assistance to the organization and its customers on Section 508 compliance and copyright laws to prepare training material and online resources for publication. Manages annual printing budget to provide the most effective, timely, and cost-efficient approach. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To qualify for an Editor, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performing editorial reviews and Section 508 remediation on training and instructional material to ensure they reflect current Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), copyright laws, and compliance with mission requirements and training objectives. Making editorial reviews on publications for style, design, layout, and consistency to meet the training objectives of the organization. Assisting with cost/benefit analysis to program managers and supervision. Coordinating the printing and publication of instructional materials, manuals, and marketing and recruitment materials. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
