Univision Television Group, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a full-time Photographer/Editor to go to news sites in all types of weather and capture newsworthy events as they happen. Work closely with our Reporters to produce compelling, significant stories. Edit video for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period pieces using Adobe Premiere and other non-linear editing software. Take in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations. Collaborate with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts. Meet daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment. Cover specialized consumer content, day-to-day news stories and long-term assignments. Maintain assigned photography gear and vehicles and operate in a safe manner. Work well with P2 and XD cameras to shoot interviews and general footage. Establish a good working-relationship with newscast producers and co-anchors to ensure a well-paced, accurate and informative broadcast. Attend and participate in off-site company-sponsored and community events as assigned by station management. Responsible for shooting and editing for the station’s newscasts. Edit moving images on film or video. Work with a producer or reporter to organize images for final production.
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Communications, Journalism, or related field plus 2 years of experience in the occupation or as a photographer/editor or journalist.
Must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish. Must know how to use P2 and XD cameras. Must be knowledgeable in AVID and Premier. Must know LiveU technology.
