We're seeking a full-time Editorial Director who will lead Spiceworks content development and connectthe dots with ZDNET Editorial and Aberdeen Research. This leader will manage a team of freelancewriters focused on enterprise tech topics and will work cross-functionally with editors, writers,researchers, community managers, and other staff. The role requires a person with attention to detail,proven ability to juggle multiple priorities, genuine curiosity about technology and innovation, and a leadership mindset. Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the publication and updating of well-optimized content on B2B and enterprise tech, including news, features, advice, tips, long form, video, and social media contentLead the execution of reader's choice awards for the most important categories in tech, powered by the Spiceworks communityWork with the Spiceworks community team to mine the gems from UGC and turn them into well-packaged contentCollaborate with Aberdeen Research analysts to create an editorial calendar and channel their expertise and original research into high-performing content on valuable B2B topicsManage a network of B2B freelance contributors including hiring, onboarding, coaching, training, and mentoringEdit content for style, tone, and flow; fix grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors; conform content to in-house styleUse analytics and other tools to track and optimize story performance; report on weekly progress toward goals and targetsQualifications7+ years of experience as an editorBroad understanding of the technology industryDeep experience with B2B and enterprise tech contentExperience hiring, managing, and developing freelancersAn understanding of SEO best practices and what it takes to create content that ranks wellProficiency in meeting deadlines and setting prioritiesA great teammate who excels in cross-functional collaborationFast editing skills; ability to balance strong voice, editorial quality, and performance optimizationMeticulous organizational skillsOutstanding verbal and written communicationMust be highly adaptable and flexible; priorities change rapidly and regularlyMust be trustworthy, committed, considerate, and a good listener
Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,000 to $150,000, plus incentive compensation (for eligible roles only), 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
