EDLF Adjunct for EDLF 3440 Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity

The University of Virginia's School of Education and Human Development seeks applicants to teach and provide content expertise in the Department of Educational Leadership, Foundations and Policy during the 2024-2025 academic year. The position will be responsible for the instruction of EDLF 3440 Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity.

EDLF 3440 focuses on the social and psychological factors related to participation in sport and physical activity over the life span. Personal factors that influence sport & exercise behavior (e.g., personality, self-perceptions, age, gender, race), situational factors (e.g., observational learning, motivational climate, socioeconomic level), and psychological methods for enhancing sport and exercise behavior will be reviewed.

The standard payrate for faculty wage employees is $5,250 per course.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach one course called EDLF 3440 for the Education Psychology-Applied Developmental Science programThe syllabus is already designed and approved. Adjunct would be responsible for high quality teaching, interactive engagement and inclusive student-centered community building.

Required Qualifications:

Master's or terminal (PhD, EdD) degree in a field related to the course is required. A terminal degree is preferred.Demonstrated expertise in the course topics being taughtStrong commitment to teaching excellence

Course Format

The program is offered in person so only applicants who can teach in person will be considered.

The department will not sponsor visas for this position.
