Job Title: EDS Logistics Coordinator

FLSA Status: Part Time - non-exempt
Reports to: Director of Emergency Disaster Services & Service Extension

Schedule: 8:30AM – 5:00PM, 3 Days

Supervises: N/A

Rate of Pay: $30/hr

Benefits: Standard; Part-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:

Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.) Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part time hours.) Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service) with at least 21 hours worked per week. 

Function

Under the direction of the Director of Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) & Service Extension (SE), the EDS Logistics Coordinator (EDS LC) will improve our divisional capacity for EDS by coordinating EDS logistics and EDS vehicle/equipment maintenance and projects. This role will ensure that our vehicles and equipment are maintained, tracked, and stocked for operational readiness, that we maintain adequate stock of EDS supplies, and that we build/maintain relationships with EDS/SE vendor partners. This position will help increase the impact of divisional EDS efforts in improving our response capacity and quality, resulting in more financial income and partnerships.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Vehicle and Equipment Management Oversee the maintenance schedule for all EDS vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are serviced and operational. Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and repairs. Coordinate EDS vehicle/equipment builds and rehabbing projects. Ensure EDS vehicles/equipment are clean at all times. Ensure proper vehicle registration, insurance, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Disaster Supplies Management Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all disaster supplies, including supplies for EDS vehicles Coordinate the distribution and replenishment of disaster supplies as needed. Ensure proper storage and tracking of disaster supplies in our warehouse and facilities throughout the division. Inspect and maintain disaster equipment such as generators, tents, and mobile kitchens. Coordinate logistics for the movement of supplies during disaster responses, including tracking and documentation. Vendor and Partner Management Build and maintain relationships with disaster-related vendor partners, including suppliers of food, equipment, and logistics services. Work with vendors on response/support plans; Coordinate with vendors in disaster response situations. Serve as the primary point of contact between The Salvation Army and its disaster-related vendor partners. General Responsibilities Support the coordination of logistics during disaster drills and exercises. Assist with the creation and updating of logistics procedures and protocols. Report regularly to EDS leadership on the status of vehicles, supplies, and vendor relationships. Ensure compliance with TSA’s guidelines, safety standards, and local/state/federal regulations. Coordinate EDS vehicle/equipment maintenance and readiness with the support of the EDS/SE Field Representatives and the field. Support EDS/SE with ordering, managing, and delivering related supplies. Any other duties as assigned by the Divisional EDS/SE Director.

 

Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications

Education/Experience High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in Emergency Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related field; One year or more of EDS/Emergency Management experience, preferred; One year or more of logistics/warehousing experience, preferred; Skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Willingness and comfort with driving and working on vehicles and equipment. Computer literate in Microsoft suite Supervisory experience and the ability to motivate others Qualifications The capability to work with minimal supervision Must be able to travel Must be willing to drive/operate large vehicles and equipment – All necessary training would be provided Driving A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver’s license is required. An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies. Background Check Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.

 

Physical Requirements
