Education and Outreach Specialist
Education and Outreach Specialists are responsible for the development, delivery, administration, and evaluation of educational programs. The audience for their programs typically consists of nontraditional or external learners, including schoolchildren, visitors, executives, continuing education students, or participants in community medical programs. They demonstrate mastery in their specialty area, normally signified by an advanced degree, or significant equivalent experience. They are responsible for the same duties as an Education and Outreach Coordinator, however, they operate with additional authority, independence, or level of complexity. Education and Outreach Specialists are accountable for the success of the educational programs they administer, and ensure that their programs fulfill the overall goal or vision of the organization.

Perform all duties of Education and Outreach Coordinator.Conceptualize, develop, and facilitate new offerings and programs, in alignment with overall strategic vision of the organization.Conceptualize and develop new outreach initiatives, retreats, and events that serve the organization's target audiences.Design marketing materials and plan promotional activities related to course offerings.Plan resources to meet organizational aims, including scheduling departmental staff and program volunteers.Procure course materials and supplies, setting and maintaining appropriate budget documentation.Design program evaluation, monitor feedback, and incorporate suggestions for improvement.

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree required. Additional experience will be required in lieu of a degree.
Experience: Two years of experience required with a Bachelor's degree. Six years of experience required with a High School degree or equivalent.
Licensure: None.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
