The Education Coordinator is a Medical Laboratory Scientist that performs microbiology testing and serves as a leader advisor instructor and facilitator of clinical coursework in a laboratory specialty area for the SLH School of MLS. Responsible for 4 to 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework through academic articulations with nine universities. Monitors outcomes to ensure effectiveness develops strategies to improve performance and maintains program accreditation. Plans, implements, evaluates, and modifies curriculum for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Serves as a clinical and educational consultant for SLHS laboratory staff promotes professional development and is responsible for discipline specific staff training education and competency. Collaborates with educators and leaders and is a resource for students staff patients and the community. Maintains discipline specific bench competency by working at least 60 percent as a MLS in accordance with the MLS Position Description.

Job Requirements:
Qualified applicants would need 3-5 years of knowledge in Microbiology testing; organism identification, antibiotic susceptibility testing, gram stains, Micro PCR and kit testing, at a minimum.
