Spurwink Services is looking for an experienced and dynamic Education Director for our Chelsea Day Treatment Program. This position works closely with other program leaders to ensure the provision of special education services in compliance with the Maine Department of Education regulations. Spurwink's Chelsea Day Treatment program is located on a 60-acre campus in Chelsea, Maine, a rural town just south of Augusta. The program works with students in grades K-12+ from multiple area schools to provide a therapeutic milieu that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth. The school currently has ten classrooms, with additional space for Speech\/Language, Occupational Therapy, and clinical services. The campus also has facilities for vocational training and recreational opportunities.\n

DUTIES:\n\nManage and coordinate daily operations of school programs. \nCoordinate referrals and ongoing services with district Special Education Directors Supervise Special Education Teachers, Educational Technicians, and related staff.\nFacilitate IEP meetings and support teachers in creating effective IEPs.\nOversee student educational programs - Organize ongoing professional development opportunities.\nFunction as part of a multi-disciplinary team.\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS:\n

Minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience (282 certifications preferred), Master's degree in Education (or comparable field), and two years supervisory experience. Must be eligible to obtain 282, 079, 035, or 030 certification through the Maine Department of Education. \n
