Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. The Education Programs Supervisor (EPS) plays a key leadership role within the Office of Educator Development, Licensure, and Family Engagement (EDLiFE), supporting initiatives to recruit, retain, recognize, and develop Nevada educators and foster family engagement. Reporting to the EDLiFE Director, the EPS oversees programs including educator preparation, scholarships, evaluation, and licensure. Responsibilities include supervising the team, conducting performance evaluations, and ensuring licensure customer service, including stepping in to supervise licensure staff in the Director's absence. The EPS collects, analyzes, and reports education program data, contributes to the development and implementation of state regulations, represents the department in legislative hearings, and facilitates collaboration with boards, councils, and commissions. The EPS also supports key advisory groups, such as the Nevada State Teacher and Education Support Professional Recruitment and Retention Advisory Task Force, the Teachers and Leaders Council, and the Advisory Council for Family Engagement, while performing other duties as assigned.
