Are you passionate about educational publishing and editorial work? If so, The DK Learning team is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Project Editor to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you’ll collaborate on a variety of exciting projects, guided by our fantastic Managing and Senior Editors to help deliver high-quality educational materials, including topic books, phonics resources, language-learning books, and graphic novels for young learners.
Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Attending and contributing to project update meetings. Maintaining and supervising schedules for multiple projects. Proofreading and editing manuscripts and proofs across various projects. Handling editorial administration tasks, including raising purchase orders, managing contracts, updating Biblio data, and preparing sales materials.
We are looking for a highly organised Project Editor with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a background in publishing, ideally with experience in curriculum education, phonics, or language-learning, and has an understanding of commercial awareness.
You should be:
Resilient: Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook, overcoming challenges, and moving forward with new ideas. An Excellent Communicator: Strong internal and external relationship management skills; confident and professional in all forms of communication. Detail-Oriented: Possess exceptional editorial skills, demonstrating precision in your work and delivering high-quality publications with swift, efficient decision-making. Organised: Effective time management and prioritisation skills to complete tasks promptly.
