Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a EDUCATION SERVICES OFFICER TITLE 32 PERMANENT, Position Description Number D200800 and is part of the NH ARNG DCSPER, National Guard. This vacancy is to gather applications that may or may not result in a referral or selection. Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to supervise two or more of the following programs: education, incentives, testing, and guidance. The position serves as the principal advisor and consultant within the State and has primary responsibility for the development, management, and administration of the aforementioned programs through budget management, personnel supervision, program management, policy development, and advisory services. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is a Title 32 excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership in the military grade/rank listed in the announcement. Military Grades: E8 TO E9; WO1 TO CW4; 01 TO 03 Compatible Military Assignments: MOS Immaterial MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Degree: that includes or supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below. At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below. 1. Tests and measurement: Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests. 2. Adult education: Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities. 3. Educational program administration: Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs. 4. Curriculum development or design: Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs. 5. Teaching methods: Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner. 6. Guidance and counseling: Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation. 7. Career planning: Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems. 8. Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Do you have 1 year of equivalent specialized experience at the GS-9 Level? Must have specialized experience in progressive work assignments in the education services series or responsible supervisory or managerial experience performing professional functions of counseling and functions of counseling and education, career planning, testing and administration of day-to-day activities of the program; experience which required establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and institutions having different interests; experience gained through study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the education services program; progressive work assignments in the education services series or responsible supervisory or managerial experience in the private sector such as college registrar, college administrator or similar positions; experience which afforded a wide exposure to educational materials at the secondary level, and/or alternative adult education; experience which demonstrates the ability to organize and develop clear and meaningful written communications such as reports and studies and has the ability to present ideas is a clear and convincing manner. Occupational information: Study of theories of occupational choice and vocational development and their application to the guidance process. Identification and utilization of various types of occupational information. Copies of transcripts must be provided at the time of submission with the application packet. Failure to do so will result in the applicant not being considered for the position. An official transcript may be required if you are selected.
