Overview

MyPath Schools is seeking an Educational Services Director to lead and enhance its special education programs across all campuses, ensuring they are student-centered, research-based, and uniquely positioned in the market.  

The Educational Services Director will:

Focus on planning, developing, and implementing a vision with supporting MyPath schools in the effective delivery of special education services. Establish foundational standards of services and programs that are part of the MyPath education offering, while respecting and maintaining individual school differences (i.e. state regulations, physical space, etc.). Work in collaboration with and mentor MyPath education leadership across the MyPath schools on topics related to instruction, curriculum, and the provision of special education services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Administrative

Work with COO, school Education Directors, and operation school leaders to ensure compensation, credential requirements, admissions processes, and data collection standards are established,Establish and define annual priorities for the MyPath educational offering designed to enhance service offering.Provide support and ensure collaboration for site-based education leaders across MyPath's school systems.Write appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines related to special education services for operational implementation.Ensures the establishment and implementation of MyPath’s education “Foundational Design” elements across MyPath schools.Collaborates with MyPath Therapeutic Practice leaders to support the implementation of PBIS across schools.Ensure Cognia accreditation is maintained for the MyPath system of schools.  Lead reaccreditation process in line with credentialing timelines.Work with COO and school leadership to plan for and develop a budget related to aspects of MyPath’s education offerings.  Including, but not limited to the areas of curriculum and technology.Guides education leadership in the development and execution of a comprehensive Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP) which includes the follow focus areas: - School Community/Culture/Climate - Professional Development (for educational leadership and instructional staff) - Curriculum and Instruction (should drive technology) - School SafetyGuide IEP development and implementation standards ensuring compliance with applicable lawsProvides oversight to MyPath’s virtual learning service offering (Nexus).Provides Professional Development (PD) across the MyPath system of schools in areas of knowledge and expertise.Works collaboratively with operating company Executive Directors related to ensuring a high quality education offering across MyPath schools.Ensure high quality offerings in the following areas as part of MyPath’s overall K-12 offering: Academic, Related services, and Transition (post-secondary education, vocational, and independent living)

Curriculum & Instruction

Stay current in research-based curriculum materials & instructional practices.Experienced with creating polices for the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of new curriculum or education technology tools. Able to create metrics to evaluate the ROI or success of the education technology.Works closely with school Learning Coordinators in the selection and implementation and use of curriculum and instructional practices.Partners with Performance Excellence to ensure outcome measures for reporting on results of services (behavioral and academic gains).

Technology

Maintain current knowledge of trends around technology in both public education and within special education.Knowledgeable on transitioning from a traditional classroom environment to a blended environment or digital learning platform.Work with the IS Department, Education Technology Specialist, and school personnel to plan, add, and implement new education technologies into the classrooms at all MyPath schools.Works closely with all involved parties on Student Information System (SIS) implementation.

Legal and Industry Expertise

Stay current on special education regulations & school safety initiatives on national, state, and local levels for WI & IN.Stay abreast of public policy, legislative, accreditation, and licensing requirements impacting MyPath education services on a local, state, and national level.Knowledgeable in external grant and funding resources, aiding in writing/securing/monitoring. Stays current in research-based services for students specific to autism, special education, and other disabilities.Ensure programs align with federal and state regulations under IDEA & FAPEUnderstand the legal role of LRE (Least Restrictive Environment) in relation to out of district placements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

Director of Special Education and Pupil Services, Director of Instruction or other related licenses required.Master’s degree in an education related field required; degree in Educational Leadership and/or Curriculum and Instruction preferred.Requires a minimum of 10 years’ experience in classroom teaching with an emphasis in special education.General knowledge of educational theories, including instructional system design, and young child, adolescent and adult learning theories as they related to students eligible for special education services, with an emphasis on students with autism and other disabilities.Excellence in communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as critical thinking, problem solving, decision-making, and organization.Self-driven and able to work independently; strong in multi-tasking and time management skills.Communication: exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communications, as well as presentation and negotiation skills.Ability to generate trust from internal and external stakeholders.Conducts self in positive, respectful and collaborative manner in accordance with the MyPath Beliefs and Behaviors demonstrating proactive actions and decision making that foster supportive work relationships and a healthy and safe environment. Ability to travel to specific locations for overall communication and understanding of individual company operations, for program development, collaboration, meetings, etc., on as-needed basisPossesses a valid vehicle Operator’s License; maintains an acceptable driving record per insurance carrier guidelines.

SALARY & BENEFITS:
