Position Summary
D ig Plant Grow Educator will Facilitate a variety of garden-based education activities with children and families visiting the Edible Academy for our drop-in gardening activities.
Specific Duties Responsibilities
Facilitate a variety of garden-based education activities planned for drop-in family program, “Dig, Plant, Grow!” at the Edible Academy.
Invite and guide families to participate in gardening activities: planting seeds or seedlings at the planting station, investigating soil and compost in the garden planting beds at the digging station, and watering the plants growing throughout the Edible Academy campus at the watering station.
Invite families to participate in garden-based enrichment activities.
Maintain organized work areas, including care of garden tools and enrichment activity supplies.
Assist with ongoing horticultural projects and task throughout the Edible Academy campus.
Qualifications
Applicant should have gardening and teaching experience, an outgoing personality, enthusiastic attitude, and willingness to work with children and families.
Applicant should be able to lift heavy program materials and work outdoors for extended periods.
Two years related experience is required.
Physical demands and work environment:
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions, to be outdoors, and to sit and/or stand for long periods
Payrate: $20.50 - $23.50
