THE JOB:
As an Educator, you will play a vital role in promoting Shark Reef’s conservation initiatives by delivering engaging educational programs, leading guided tours, and creating meaningful guest experiences. Your dedication to developing innovative guest engagement opportunities, educating visitors about marine life, and mentoring new team members will foster memorable experiences that guests will carry for a lifetime. Through your passion for education and conservation, you will inspire curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

THE SCHEDULE: Part-Time

Aquarium Hours

Daily 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Shark Reef Aquarium in Las Vegas

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

Welcome all guests and lead engaging educational programs, providing information about various species, habitats, and Shark Reef’s conservation mission to create a memorable and informative visitor experience

Deliver insightful exhibit presentations, lead VIP and private tours, conduct school field trip programs across all grade levels, and present ambassador animals and animal encounter experiences

Support guest dive programs by guiding tours, assisting divers, and managing setup and cleanup

Monitor guest behavior to ensure both public and animal safety by enforcing exhibit guidelines as needed

Report abnormal situations to supervisors or animal care teams

Attend programs related to promotional and educational initiatives as assigned including partner expos, and educational fairs, or school days

Foster the growth and engagement of new team members by providing training that ensures consistency in educational messaging, guest interactions, and responses to visitor inquiries

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Is a minimum 18 years of age

Has High School Diploma, GED or equivalent educational experience

Holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, marine biology, or ecology

Has 2+ Years of experience working in an aquarium, zoo, museum, or similar educational setting, providing tours, guest engagement, or conservation education
