The University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Senior EEG Technician.

CORE JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior EEG Technician (U) oversees and supports the performance of electroencephalographic (EEG) procedures utilizing various monitoring equipment and collects diagnostic patient data used in detecting brain, cardiovascular, and sleep disorders.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

Ensures accurate performance of EEG tests as requested by physicians.

Manages and reviews patient records and interviews patients to obtain additional information. Prepares patients for procedure by attaching monitoring devices and explaining test procedures. Sets up and calibrates necessary equipment.

Oversees patients during testing, monitoring patients’ status and recording observations.

Analyzes test data to ensure appropriate data is collected.

Reports test results to physicians for further analysis.

Supervises the maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensures work area is clean, and institutes quality control procedures.

Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs minor repairs.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Certification and Licensing:

Certification in relevant specialty or field

Experience:

Minimum 3 year of relevant experience
