JR51226 Effective Problem Solving Engineer

As a Global Quality, Quality Management Systems (QMS), Effective Problem Solving Engineer in the Quality Management Office at Micron Technology, Inc., you will collaborate with leaders and team members across the organization and throughout the world. Your aim will be to satisfy the customer and key stakeholders through timely and effective resolution of Micron’s most difficult customer problems.

Must be able to see the big picture and able to grasp the association of different elements that make up one whole.  This means you have the ability to see how elements within a system change over time, generating patterns and trends.

Know how to effectively problem solve and use critical thinking skills that help find solutions to problems.

Project Management
Work ethic, responsiveness, and results orientation matter!  With everyone driving hard to achieve the company’s goals, it is critical to have strong project planning and structured approaches to big decisions.  
 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
 

Be able to manage Customer Deviations end-to-end:

Provide resolution to all customer deviations through facilitating 8D projects.Manage the problem solving process to drive for on-time turn-around time (TAT) with quality and share lessons learned across the network to prevent repeats. Work in a multi-discipline team environment on processes and projects, ensuring that there is team cooperation and contribution leading to a successful outcome. Be a change agent to influence the culture for problem solving within the company. Coordinate updates to the executives and internal communications. Serve as a point of contact for Effective Problem Solving and hold stakeholders accountable.Develop and maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented relationships with coworkers, supervisors, managers, clients, and others you are in contact with.

 

Be an Expert in Problem Solving:

Be accountable for the success of problem solving specific to customer issues.Collaborate with local teams and assist in resolving problems.Have a firm grasp of 8D methodology – root cause analysis and CAPA.Analyze and solve complex problems. Coach and mentor other team members. Coordinate continuous improvement programs/project and efforts across many different project groups.

 

Be able to Manage the Customer Experience:

Identify customer needs, respond to customer queries and escalations, and collaborate with customer facing team to improve customer satisfaction.Assist in writing customer 8D (8 Disciplines) reports. Ensure closed-loop sharing of lessons learned.

Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field5+ Years of Experience post-bachelor’s experience

Desired

Knowledge of semiconductor, automotive industry, or other related manufacturing.Knowledge of Micron’s Quality Management System.Knowledge of Supply Chain activities.Basic knowledge of human factors and motivation as it relates to quality. Intermediate understanding and writing of codes in SQL.Experience as project manager for IT software development/enhancements.
