The Role Working within the Maritime team,the role is responsible for technical support to the CUK Fleet in the areas of Advanced Air Quality Systems (AAQS) or Exhaust Gas Cleaning Systems (EGCS) and related emissions abatement technologies. The role will provide specialist support covering but not limited to: AAQS / EGCS and related equipment including gas and water monitoring systems, other emissions abatement technologies. As part of the team responsible for the asset management strategy relating to AAQS / EGCS, the post holder will work closely with ship’s teams, regulatory bodies and suppliers to ensure that operational risks are identified and managed effectively, and equipment and vessel availability is maintained to a high level. The role holder will be expected to work closely with ship borne engineers to optimise performance of all the installed EGC systems across the CUK Fleet. The role will provide support to the operational Fleet relating to: emissions abatement technologies such that equipment & ship’s material condition is kept to the highest standards with safety as a top priority. This includes the optimisation and improvement of all existing systems to meet and exceed the Carnival UK AAQS availability and performance targets, in support of the CUK sustainability goals and fuel forecast. The role will be responsible for the planning,management and delivery of complex technical projects covering AAQS & emissions abatement technology, delivered both in service and during docking periods. Close liaison with internal and external parties is critical, attention to detail is required to ensure budget management is maintained and projects are effectively completed. These responsibilities will be achieved by successful management of internal and external resources to ensure tasks are delivered on time & budget whilst adhering to Carnival UK core values and culture essentials. You will: + Responsible for the material state of ships equipment and systems in the area of specialisation (or project responsibility) + To act as the technical expert for AAQS / EGCS and emissionsabatement technology in support of the ship management team. + Responsible for management of operational risk of AAQS / EGCS, ensuring risks are identified, managed to a tolerable level with appropriate mitigations identified and planned. + Work with ships staff,suppliers and the shore team to identify and mitigate associated obsolescence risks; devising plans to replace affected equipment to ensure risk remains understood and tolerable. + Accountable for optimising current installations to reduce Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and exceed Carnival UK AAQS availability targets. + Responsible for the Asset Management of equipment in their area of specialisation, including input into and oversight of the Planned Maintenance system to ensure ongoing reliability and reduce risk of failure. + Working with the supply chain, as required, to ensure that related parts and /or services are provided in a timely manner, and within allocated budget. + Submitting periodical updates on equipment / ship condition and performance, operational risk, project deliverys chedule and progress. This role is a CUK07 and is offered on a full time, permanent contract basis, with hybrid working in our Southampton office, including up to two days from home.
