Dentsply Sirona's Sarasota, FL location is looking for someone to join our team as an Environmental Health and Safety and Facilities Department Coordinator.

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Environmental Health and Safety Department Coordinator will have a primary responsibility for the administration of Dentsply Sirona safety policies and procedures, including OSHA & EPA requirements.

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop EHS Work Instructions, Job Hazard Analyses, and training courses. Coordinate all associate safety training as required. Complete OSHA and EPA weekly, monthly, and annual inspection as required, (i.e. eye wash stations, fire extinguishers, emergency light inspections, hazardous waste storage area. Maintains safety postings, including Safety Metrics, Safety Committee Meeting Minutes, OSHA requirements, and safety communications. Lead Monthly Safety Committee Meetings. Maintain a current file of Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals. Manage hazardous waste storage, disposal, and hazardous waste manifests. Participate in EHS and facility audits as required. Perform noise level monitoring, machine guard assessments, and ergonomic assessments. Coordinates annual fire alarm testing and emergency response drills. Participate in accident investigations and identify root causes. Coordinates CPR Training and maintain First Responder’s training documentation. Develop and update EHS documents in Smart Solve. Follows applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Follow applicable work instructions. Follow all established company policies. Knowledge of GMP and ISO procedures. Other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

 

Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Must be detail oriented. Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations. Must be detail oriented and have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be a self-starter, independent and be able to work in a fast paced and challenging environment. Good written and oral communication skills. Good leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills Dependability and ability to adapt to change are essential. Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to design training programs and deliver effectively at all levels. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel with the ability to learn other applicable programs as necessary. Previous experience with OSHA & EPA regulations a plus Proficient in Spanish preferred, but not required.

 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

GED or High School diploma or equivalent work experience and education Associate or BA/BS preferred.

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Primary office environment and minimal exposure to manufacturing environment. Work is generally performed in an office or cubicle, sedentary. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Limited temperature fluctuations, air condition environment This position may encounter hazardous material such as blood borne pathogens.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must be able to sit for at least 4 hours at a time. Have normal eye/hand motor coordination and the ability to grasp and hold small objects. Possess a normal extended reach. Consistently uses manual dexterity. Must be able to travel via car to designated areas. Must be able to transport, lift, and demonstrate materials, product and equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
