JOB SUMMARY:
To perform a variety of professional duties involved in developing, coordinating, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety related activities for engineering and production facilities in Wichita and Independence. This position reports to the Vice President, Quality, Health and Safety and will interface with all levels of management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the implementation of EHS program(s), including the development of an EHS mission, vision, goals and objectives and metrics surrounding the success of these programs.
• Embed safety into Textron Aviation culture while taking into consideration the respective goals, needs, and diverse environments of the company’s operations.
• Lead multifunctional teams to implement EHS practices. Specifically work with Senior Leadership to incorporate EHS into the Textron Aviation.
• Respond to EHS concerns presented by management, supervision, employees and EHS team members. Communicate possible solutions based on good EHS principles.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance to Government and Corporate regulations.
• Provide guidance during incident investigations on serious or questionable injuries or illnesses and provide recommendations to prevent recurrences, using the root cause analysis method.
• Work with Health Service and our Third Party Administrator to facilitate Workers’ Compensation.
• Assist in the talent development of EHS Engineers.
• Up to 50% travel required at times.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree required in: Environmental Health and Safety, Fire Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Manufacturing Technology or other related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relative experience required
• Leadership experience is preferred

• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired
