Adecco Staffing is assisting a well-known Medical Device Manufacturing facility in Chelmsford MA with their needs for an EH&S Specialist. **Hours:** 8am – 4pm, Monday-Friday **Pay:** $32 - $37/HR **POSITION SUMMARY:** The main scope is to help enhance and successfully integrate the sites foundational EHS Core Management System (CMS) elements as per Global EHS MS (Management System) requirements. This also includes utilization of the Teleflex EHS software system Gensuite / EHS Online and associated modules and reporting. Secondary activities include but are not limited to, performing auditing & inspections, developing and administering training, coordinating, assisting, and consulting with the site EHS Engineer, Plant Manager, & and Regional EHS Manager in planning, establishing, and maintaining compliant EH&S management. Helps to reinforce and drive Teleflex’s EH&S vision of **Zero Harm** to people and environment. **PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:** + Help to enhance and successfully fully integrate the sites elemental EHS CMS programs as per Global EHS requirements. + Aid in the understanding, management and implementation of the site’s EH&S Improvement register (EH&SIR), incident register (IR) and associated site EHS metrics, both local and global. + Work with the EHS Engineer and area Risk Owners to develop and assign incident investigation teams, perform investigations to determine root cause and determine robust corrections and corrective actions in alignment with the hierarchy of controls. + Assist in improving, developing and implementing site policies concerning environmental and safety issues. + Help to augment and maintain the sites EH&S CMS, which is written in line with the TFX Global EH&S Manual and International Management Standards ISO 45001 and 14001. + Improve and monitor site EH&S CMS and associated elemental components to help ensure that the site complies to external local government statutory laws associated to EH&S as well as internal Teleflex Global EH&S requirements and standards. + Identify, investigate, report, and effectively communicate all critical EH&S non-conformities (NC’s) and opportunities for improvement (OFI’s). Help site management and risk owners evaluate the seriousness of issues, determine the source of variance, and specify steps to be taken in correcting the condition or the need for further controls. + Assist the Management Team and Safety Committee to assure the site appropriately identifies EH&S NC’s & OFI’s, investigates EH&S incidents, determines root causes and implement’s the appropriate corrections and corrective actions, therefore lessening EH&S risk. + Guide the site on implementing and using Global EH&S management systems, tools & methodologies regarding the PDCA model and EH&S risk management process, specifically; identification and evaluation of OHS hazards and environmental aspects & impacts, performing risk assessments, identification of environmental aspects, impacts and significance evaluation, the identification and management of Legal and Other Requirements (IDLOR), Root Cause Analysis, Hierarchy of Controls, Just Culture and Zero Harm. + Augments the sites EHS Training Matrix to ensure it is complete, effective and timely. Develops / improves and implements site-specific EH&S training and training presentation materials. + Enhances, utilizes and tracks the site EHS compliance calendar ensuring the appropriate risk owners are assigned and held accountable warranting all regulatory, Global EH&S, and other (i.e. customer) requirements deadlines are systematically delivered on time. + Performs risk assessments as needed utilizing the sites Risk Assessment Process / Risk Management Plan. Involves & educates EHS risk owners on the internal risk assessment process. + Participates with and helps to improve the Site Safety Committee Team, EH&S grassroots groups and associated regular site meetings. + Proactively identifies potential EH&S hazards through risk assessments, Gemba walks, internal audits & inspections etc, and ensures timely and appropriate immediate corrections and associated final corrective actions are implemented when hazards are identified. + Works with site Management to incorporate EH&S into already established site programs, procedures and metrics, where applicable. (Ex; 5S / Lean, Continuous Improvement Projects, KPI’s, shift meetings, etc.) + Other duties as assigned. · **REQUIREMENTS:** · Professional academic qualification: Bachelor’s degree or post graduate level with a core focus closely related to Occupational Safety & Health management and 5+ years Occupational Safety & Health management controls experience, aligned to the industry sector and the primary safety & health hazards and environmental aspects applicable to their potential footprint of responsibility. OR · Professional academic qualification: bachelor degree or post graduate level with an Engineering or Manufacturing focus and 10 years Occupational Safety & Health management experience, aligned to the industry sector and the primary safety & health hazards and environmental aspects applicable to their potential footprint of responsibility. · **SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS** : Additional preferred or required qualifications. · Robust computer skills, especially MS Teams & EHS management systems such as Gensuite. · Excellent organization and time management skills. · Keen EH&S risk assessment skills. · Strong project management skills. · Ability to lead projects from conception to completion. · Strong written and oral communication. · Strong knowledge of federal, state and local EH&S regulations. · Occupational & Health Hazard and Environmental Aspects identification skillsets. · Ability to source and interpret relevant, published best practice controls and standards before offering advice. · Clear and analytical thinking facilitating assessment of both EH&S and wider business risk. · Confidence and effective decision making regarding escalations, notifications and where justified: whistle blowing. · Creative thinker/problem solver **INTERESTED?
