EH&S Specialist
**General Summary** + Represent the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) in order to ensure that the unique needs of the site are understood and incorporated into the EH&S Program. + Provide leadership and hands-on presence to ensure a safe, secure and compliant workplace across the site, delivering outstanding EH&S performance and sustaining the License to Operate. + Work in close partnership with EH&S Hub Leadership to ensure all work processes and resources are in place and properly utilized and aligned. + Partner with EH&S Hub Leader, and Site Leadership to ensure appropriate, consistent implementation and maintenance of EH&S work processes, best practices and most effective technologies; coordinate, align priorities and initiatives; audit the effectiveness of work processes and implementation; analyze performance data for trends and identify opportunities for improvement. **Job Responsibilities:** **Leadership and Planning** + Assist Site Leader with providing environmental, Industrial Hygiene (IH), health, safety, and motor vehicle leadership, support and expertise to the site in a manner that is compatible with local issues and culture. + Measure site performance against goals, and work with Hub Leader to develop improvement plans. + Participate in regional functional network calls. **Work Process / Improvement** + Acts as the site EHS focal point for EH&S disciplines (environmental, IH, health, safety, and motor vehicle, etc.). + Partner with R&D EH&S hub leaders to leverage resources in order to drive EH&S performance by utilizing all available EH&S tools and work processes. + Coaches’ teams and individuals on EH&S related tasks / activities and acts as the resource for related EH&S information on procedures, guidelines and standards implementation. + Provides hands-on environmental, IH, health, safety, and motor vehicle assistance for the site as indicated. + Analyze and evaluate site EH&S performance to identify and implement opportunities for improvement. + Establish EH&S priorities for the site and periodically review the progress + Supports site compliance with Corporate EH&S Standards and Governmental Regulatory Requirements. Provide local input to Hub Leader for regulatory strategies and advocacy. + Supports site self-assessment, audit, and regulatory compliance corrective action completion & validation. + Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with EH&S standards + Ensures all appropriate IH programs, monitoring and health surveillance requirements are met. + Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analysis. + Support contractor companies with site EHS standards compliance. + Monitor and ensure CAPA compliance for audits, incidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions. + Assist site responses to site EH&S / Emergency Response & Security (ER&S) issues and crises that affect operations consistent with site and business "license to operate" requirements. + Ensures minimization of local customization of EH&S / ER&S management systems whenever possible and leads / champions management system reviews in order to drive continuous improvement. + Supports cost-effective delivery of EH&S systems. + Provide expertise and support for site environmental stewardship, waste management, site due diligence and remediation (where indicated). + Ensure delivery of required EH&S training. + Lead and provide data for EH&S audits / assessments. + Collects, analyzes, calculates and inputs data for EH&S reporting as necessary. + Performs field observations and safety interventions. + Completes documentation and facilitates waste characterizations. **Requirement:** + Bachelor’s degree (4/5 yrs) in an applicable scientific discipline is required. + Diploma / PG diploma in Industrial Safety. + 5+ years of relevant industry experience, knowledge and skills in a R&D / manufacturing / industrial environment + Fluent in English **Knowledge, skill, and abilities:** + Demonstrated knowledge of all EH&S work processes, in addition to site operations and processes + Self-motivated, independent thinker and performer + Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities + Works methodically and meets required deadlines + Well organized with a demonstrated ability to work without supervision + Excellent consultation, facilitation, and influencing skills + Excellent inter-personal relationship skills to all levels in an organization + Demonstrated open and clear communications and processes for issue resolution + Excellent English / local language verbal and written communication skills + Excellent training and presentation skills + Ability to analyze technical writing and regulations + Broad experience with computers including word processing, spreadsheets, database and training/presentation software Corteva Agriscience™ is an equal opportunity employer.
