The Opportunity

This EHR Connectivity Ops Interface Analyst position works out of the Minneapolis, MN location in the Medical Devices Digital Solutions organization organization.

The EHR Connectivity Operations Interface Analyst reports to the Senior Manager, EHR Connectivity Operations. This critical role will be the primary point of contact for the development, implementation, and support of integrations between Abbott’s medical device platforms and our customer's EHRs.  The role will support, monitor, and maintain existing interfaces and resolve issues as they arise.  This role will be expected to provide expert guidance in interfacing and messaging requirements and standards.  The role will be working with internal cross-functional technical and commercial teams as well as our customers IT and clinical team members.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Develop and implement customer EHR integrations between their EHR and Abbott medical device platforms leveraging a variety of interoperability standards and communication protocols.

Be the technical lead on integration projects between Abbott medical device platforms and customers EHRs.

Acts as primary interface subject matter expert for clients and vendors within implementation projects

Work closely with customers' IT and clinical team members as needed.

Provide technical expertise with internal and external users regarding healthcare data and corresponding integrations.

Provide production support.

Troubleshoot interface issues in coordination with internal and external teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional internal technical and commercial teams.

Ensure high customer satisfaction by ensuring all customer engagements are executed on time with high quality.

Create and maintain technical documentation library for both external and internal teams.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required:

BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field preferred

​Minimum of 5 years in a healthcare integration analyst or engineer role.

Demonstratable understanding of various healthcare data standards and frameworks such as HL7 v2, CCDA, FHIR, IHE profiles, SMART on FHIR, etc.

Working knowledge of various communication protocols such as TCP/IP, (S)FTP, HTTP(s), etc.

Deep experience with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, etc.

Understanding of clinical libraries such as SNOMED, LOINC, ICD, RxNorm, etc.

Experience with integration engines such as Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, InterSystems, Corepoint, etc.

Strong interpersonal, written, presentation, communication and technical skills.

Problem solving of highly complex issues, which requires critical assessment of potential impact on multiple interested parties.  The candidate must be proactive in issue identification, analysis, course correction and resolution.

Ability to distill complex information into concise, impactful communications to both internal and external customers/stakeholders, often in a matrixed environment.

Preferred:

HL7 Certification (v2, CCDA and/or FHIR)

Integration Engine certification

EHR Integration Certifications such as Epic Bridges or Cerner FSI

Experience with Linux based operating systems such as RedHat

Understanding of networking principles

The base pay for this position is $83,000.00 – $166,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
