EHS Coordinator

Carlisle Construction Materials is seeking an EHS Coordinator to support their Carlisle Architectural Metals (CAM) MTL facility in Waukesha, WI.  This position will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and managing the environmental, health, and safety programs throughout the MTL manufacturing facility in Waukesha, WI. This includes managing programs to prevent injuries, health impairments, and collaborate with site leadership teams, as well as business unit directors and business unit EHS Manager, to prevent, perform root cause analysis, and resolve environmental, health and safety problems. Standard working hours are Monday- Friday 8 am to 5 pm with occasional overtime and weekend hours.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Regular communication with CAM Regional Safety Specialists and CAM Divisional Manager of EHS. Assists the plant manager in strategic planning across the site which includes leading/lagging safety data analysis and problem solving. Serves as the primary advisor regarding all safety issues for site leadership, supervisors, local safety committees, and hourly associates. Acts as a behavior-based safety coach and mentor to site leadership teams and associates regarding safety tools, concepts, and mindset. Implements and maintains site safety plans, EHS standard work, and Carlisle safety programs. Conducts comprehensive safety standard work assessments, PPE assessments, ergonomic assessments, and policy audits. Manage/execute targeted environmental, health and safety projects throughout the facility. Reviews and updates the safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company goals and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines. Prepare, implement, and executes safety training, on-boarding, mentoring, and associate BBS observations. Reviews safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklist, accident investigation reports and near miss reports. Lead, track, and review all site level incident problem solving for complete root causes, trends, and corrective action completion across location. Maintains the OSHA 300 logs. Track OSHA recordable incidents, rates, and trends; regularly report safety performance measures to Divisional EHS Leadership. Maintains liaison between management and outside regulatory agencies in accordance with Company policy and statutory guidelines. Chairs the safety committee and attends all required management team meetings. Keeps records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, dates and results of workplace inspections. Submits necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping. Maintains all weekly, monthly, and yearly, safety inspections. Maintains all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks. Manage the completion of EHS tasks utilizing EHS digital platform (Gensuite). Manage EHS ISO programs (ISO 14001). Other duties as assigned.   

Working Conditions:

Manufacturing Plant environment where the plants may be dirt, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings. Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional overtime or weekends required. Limited travel for meetings.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used:

Eye and hearing protection is required at all times on the production floor. Safety toe shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor. Other PPE as defined by management within assigned department.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Effective written and verbal communication skills. Computer operations skills. Basic mathematics skills. Knowledge of SAP. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and plant safety. Knowledge of CPR and First Aid. Knowledge of quality control.

 

Education and Experience:

Required: High School Diploma required Three Years of Safety Experience First Aid/CPR/AED certification Preferred: Associates Degree or Technical College Degree
