Using unique expertise in the fields of materials science, surface science, optics, biochemistry and biology, the segment provides innovative solutions that improve productivity and enable breakthrough discoveries. **Role Purpose** This position is responsible for promoting an environmentally safe and healthy work environment for all employees throughout the manufacturing facility and to maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations. This position supports the Corning Life Sciences facility located in Durham, NC. **Responsibilities** + Facilitating and communicating Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. + Develop and drive enforcement of all Corporate EHS policies, standards and procedures. + Develops and conducts employee environmental health and safety training. + Responds to EH&S emergencies, investigates accidents, and recommends corrective and preventive action + Maintain compliance with laws, codes and regulations, seeking advice from outside agencies, and corporate departments when necessary. + This position is responsible for the ISO14001 certification process. + Following corporate and/or local policies, standards and procedures: + Provide for the support of the day to day operation of the environmental, health and Safety systems. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in technical field (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering) or equivalent related experience + 2-5 years of environmental or safety experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent. + Extensive knowledge of S&E regulations. + Strong computer skills; proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. + Knowledge and experience with of ISO14001 certification process. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills **Desired Skills** + Certified Safety Professional (CSP) + Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) + Certified Green Belt + Experience with risk and statistical analysis. + Project management experience **This position does not support immigration sponsorship.** The range for this position is $60,410.00 - $83,065.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
