The EHS intern at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) helps improve the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) systems at the Cedar Rapids manufacturing site

Qualifications

Pursuing a degree in public Health, occupational health, occupational safety, environmental studies, Engineering, or equivalent or recently graduated within the past 12 monthsHigh level of initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environmentExperience with Microsoft Office, especially ExcelStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAvailable to complete the entire 12-week internship assignmentAuthorized to work in the U.S. without restriction

Responsibilities

The EHS Internship is designed to assist the site EHS Team with day-to-day tasks and special projects. The intern will be mentored by the site EHS manager, EHS Specialist, and Environmental Engineer as they use problem solving to improve site conditions touching the following items:
• Lead improvement initiatives for safety related programs such as fall protection and ergonomics
• Support team efforts to improve wastewater profiles for the site
• Promoting safe actions throughout the organization
• Participation in the site safety observations program
• Special projects as identified by the Safety Manager
