EHS Manager

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager proactively plans, directs, and implements plant safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment. The EHS Manager is responsible for promoting and building a positive safety culture and leading all aspects of the plant’s efforts to comply with federal, state, and local EHS regulations, as well as all corporate and plant safety programs and policies.

The EHS Manager is responsible to develop, maintain, and/or execute plant and company strategic goals, including the successful completion of the annual EHS Plan. The EHS Manager will provide direction and leadership to all plant department managers, supervisors, and employees in EHS-related matters, and will serve as coordinator for the plant’s various safety teams. Further, the EHS Manager will coordinate activities involving accident/incident investigation, including reporting through appropriate channels and correcting to resolution any unsafe acts or conditions, thereby promoting a safe work environment for all employees in all areas at all times.

Safety – Accident Prevention, Process Development, and Management:

Serve as WCM H&S Pillar Leader. Oversee, take ownership, and drive ALL Plant safety programs and compliance. Lead safety programs, strategy development, implementation, and sustainment. Develop an engaged workforce that leads the plant in safety participation and EHS standards ownership. Develop and oversee compliance calendar, safety training tracking, and certification update processes. Serve as the OSHA, and PA contact and record-keeper for the plant; represent plant during external audits. Manage the plant preparation and coordination of audits, safety days, safety workouts, internal audits Safety committee leadership. Identify and correct any safety hazards within the plant. Create/update Risk Assessments, JSAs, Work Instructions, and Management of Change; ensure required reviews are completed per schedule. Assess and facilitate solutions to any ergonomic concerns. Manage Atlas program (injury reduction)

 

Environmental and Health Compliance:

Serve as WCM Environment & Risk Prevention Pillar Leader. Provide EHS program administration, training, and Actively meet and develop plant environmental objectives and targets. Understand and lead the organization in managing compliance with EPA, and local governing bodies. Maintain third-party certifications and accreditations. Manage internal and external audit processes, developing corrective and preventative action systems that ensure compliance, while driving improvement in environmental awareness and compliance across the plant. Represent the plant for all EPA, or other governmental site visits and/or audits. Lead program compliance for other E&H requirements. Ensure findings/observations are reconciled in a timely manner. Coordinate annual Industrial Hygiene surveys, as required. Ensure validation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual site compliance inspections: SWPPP; Hazardous and Universal Waste; SPCC. Maintain environmental compliance calendar and schedule requirements. Coordinate plant DOT environmental compliance.

Workers Compensation:

Provide program administration, claims control, and hearing attendance. Work alongside HR Manager on work-related injuries and illnesses, restricted duty, and case management. As necessary, accompany ill/injured employees to medical facilities or clinic
