The EHS Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the site meets all OSHA and EPA regulations and are in compliance
with the regulations. This role will be responsible for leading accident investigations with a focus on reducing work related
injuries through policy management, training, inspections/audits, and worker’s compensation management. This will include
corresponding with local authorities as necessary to ensure compliance with customer requirements, government regulations,
wastewater discharge, air emissions, and hazardous waste. This includes, but is not limited to troubleshooting, recommending,
and implementing areas of improvement where compliance with regulations is needed.
Essential Functions:
Lead the management team with critical safety and health problems including chairing the Safety Steering CommitteeWork with Facilities Manager and maintenance team to coordinate installation and upgrade projects relating to EH&SManage the site’s EH&S programs, procedures, training, JHA’s, incident investigations, and SafeStart ProgramEvaluate hazardous conditions and develop hazard control practices and eliminate and remove the hazardsWork with department managers/supervisors on safety and 6S change initiatives for continuous improvementLead and manage the plant EH&S initiatives driving sustainable cultural change with a long-term strategyMeasure, track, and report the site’s accident statistics and make recommendations for problem areasDevelop and manage all EH&S programs and training and tracking compliance with GensuitePrepare and submit environmental reports including Tier II, Form R, and other facility annual reportsDevelopment and implementation of emergency response procedures and contingency plans for the siteCoordinate and implement design changes in wastewater, air quality, and noise to meet complianceResponsible for EHS regulations and PCC requirements to meet Federal, State, and local laws for the siteEstablish area goals and long-term strategy for accident prevention and cost-control objectives Investigate and document all accidents/injuries and recommend immediate corrective actions Ensure the Cardinal Rules of Safety are implemented, managed, and measured for all departmentsWork with production employees on EH&S changes for their department including ergonomicsPrepare monthly and quarterly EH&S reports for management operations reviewsPerform workplace hazard assessments and EHS audits. Ability to document, plan, measure, and execute EH&S compliance programs.Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.Project management including capital, equipment upgrades, and ergonomics.Desired Skills:
Highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills working with all levels of management.Proven ability to work hands-on with the team to achieve objectives.Experience working with industrial pretreatment processes to remove metals such as silver, nickel, etc.Experience & Education
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Safety, Environmental, or related Engineering field. MS or MBA degree is desirable.Prefer 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment working in EH&S or related capacity.CSP and/or ASP certification strongly preferred.Thorough knowledge of 6s and continuous improvement is a plus.Physical Demands:
