The Environmental Health and Safety Manager Position reports directly to the JBS Live Pork EHS Director and will work closely with all site personnel and leadership, to ensure site compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements as well as adherence to all company and site policies and procedures.  The main goal of the Environmental Health & Safety supervisor will be to ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible to support the strategy and vision of the EH&S Director and be able to provide the following responsibilities Essential Responsibilities: Assist local leadership teams to ensure compliance to safety and environmental regulatory requirements as they relate to: permitting, program review, training, inspections, incident management and follow up, workers ‘compensation oversight, recordkeeping and documentation controlAct as the technical expert for safety, environmental, training, health and ergonomics issuesAssist in completion and evaluation of facility safety audits and inspections of personnel to assure compliance with program requirementsWork with local leadership in staff development as it relates to safety and environmental program requirementsFacilitate functional group meetings and other specialized meetings as need dictatesProvide assistance in incident management including patient care and follow-up actions, investigation, tracking and trending details for EHS eventsAssist in the development of annual and long-term capital plansWork with site leadership to assure MOC process is utilized for all capital requests and other changes to assure safety and environmental concerns are addressedProvide in-field EHS support for employees and provide hazard awareness directly to site employees when necessaryParticipate in follow up for all government inspections dealing with Safety or Environmental agencies Work with consultants to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and follow upAssist in annual review and update of standardized programs and policies to include: LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Work at Heights, Emergency EvacuationProvide environmental technical support to contract growersAny other responsibilities as assigned by the EHS Director.  The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
